The Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) is one of India’s wealthiest municipal organisations, with an annual budget larger than that of some small Indian states.
MCGM is the largest civic organisation in the country and one of the largest in Asia. It covers an area of 437 km² and serves a population of 12.4 million, according to the 2011 Census.
