Forensic Medicine

The Department of Forensic Medicine is a vital pillar of the medical sciences, dedicated to the intersection of medicine and law. This department plays a crucial role in imparting knowledge and training to undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in the field of forensic medicine, toxicology, and medico-legal practices. The department was established in 2015 with a mission to equip future medical professionals with the expertise needed to apply medical knowledge in legal contexts, contribute to the justice system, and uphold the ethical standards of the medical profession.

MD FORENSIC MEDICINE:

The postgraduate training consists of autopsy techniques, recent advances in forensic medicine and toxicology, medicolegal case discussions, journal clubs, postgraduate teaching, seminars, demonstration of laboratory procedures, rotatory postings in various departments like forensic science laboratory, pathology, radiology, psychiatry, obstetrics and gynaecology etc.
