About the Department
History
The Department of Anatomy was conceptualised and established in 2014 under the headship and guidance of Dr. Mehera Bhoir, HOD as per the then MCI requirements. It started
functioning from the revamped Old Casualty building of Cooper Hospital and in 2023 shifted to the state of the art New Medical College Building
Purpose
The Anatomy Department provides medical education to 200 UG, 5 PG and Nursing students.
It also provides Body Donation Services for the community.
It encourages innovative teaching ideas and fosters research at UG and PG level provides opportunities for interdisciplinary clinical work.
It has the centre of the PSHWW Committee.

Vision:
To develop the Department of Anatomy into a centre of excellence imparting quality and holistic medical education.
Mission:
The Department of Anatomy provides quality medical education encompassing the cognitive, psychomotor and affective domains and effective communication skills to develop competent and humane undergraduate and postgraduate doctors. It fosters research in the field of Anatomy and community outreach services in the form of Body Donation facility.
